Description
Summary: The Les Paul Junior and Special were revised in 1958 to have double cutaways and more fingerboard access, but the Special didn't really hit its groove until 1960, when the lower pickup placement and slim neck taper made it more robust and easier to play than ever. Proudly replicated are the timeless Gibson tonewood recipe (mahogany/mahogany/rosewood) and fast-playing Slim Taper neck that have won over players like Rivers Cuomo to Jerry Garcia. This LP Jr. Special originally had the G-Force (Robot) tuners and has been upgraded with Grover tuning keys.

Body: Mahogany with a gloss finish.

Neck: Mahogany with a bound Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1.78” nut width, 22 frets, pearl dot inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Two Gibson P90 pickups, Grover tuning keys, master volume/master tone controls/3-way pickup selector, wraparound tailpiece, black pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar has light surface scratches throughout. The finish has worn around the edges of the headstock. It has some light indentations on the back of the body from a belt buckle. The frets are in great shape, and it plays very well. Overall, this guitar has some cosmetic issues, but it plays and sounds fantastic.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Modifications: The original G-Force tuning keys have been upgraded with Grover tuning keys.

Weight: 7.925 lbs.

Case: This guitar ships the original hard-shell case, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
