1968 marked the return of the Les Paul design after 7 years of discontinuation. This first-year example has all of the early and desirable features: a one piece mahogany body with a maple cap, one piece mahogany neck with a 50's style long neck tenon, a pair of fantastic sounding "soap bar" P90 pickups, reflector knobs, stop tailpiece and ABR-1 bridge, and a beautiful "gold top" finish. These guitars are some of the best post-50's Gibson electrics made and have become increasingly hard to find. This guitar is fully original but features a small touch-up on the back of the headstock. With a perfect 50's neck profile and resonant body, this is as close to a 50's Les Paul as it gets!
