Description

Summary: This is a really beautiful 1988 Gibson Les Paul Standard with a wonderfully aged alpine white finish. This Gibson has recently been set up with a new set of 10’s and it plays and sounds great.

Body: Solid body, single cutaway electric guitar with a mahogany body and a fully bound maple cap.

Neck: Fully bound mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard & block pearloid inlays, gold Gibson deluxe tuning keys, 22 frets, 24.75” scale length, 1 11/16” nut width. The tuning keys are the original tuners but someone did put another set of tuners on it at some time in the past & there are some holes that still show on the back.

Pickups/Hardware: Gold hardware, 2 humbucker pickups, 2 volume knobs, 2 tone knobs, 3-way switch, cream binding, cream pickguard, non-original but very cool Gibson case.

Cosmetics: This vintage Gibson does show some signs of wear – there are some holes on the back of the headstock where someone replaced the tuning keys at some point in the past (but the original tuners are now back on the guitar) – there are some light dings & nicks in the body, pick scratching on the pickguard, lots of buckle rash on the back of the guitar, notable finish wear around the neck pocket

Playability: This old Gibson plays great – we set it up with a new set of 10’s and checked out the truss rod fully – the action is low & the guitar plays great up & down the fingerboard.

Modifications: The original tuning keys were replaced at some point in the past & the holes they drilled are still there – we put the original tuners back on the guitar but it doesn’t cover up the holes.

Weight: 10 lbs, 1 oz.

Case: This guitar comes with a very cool white tolex Gibson hardshell case – this is probably not the original hardshell case but it is a very cool case.
