This one owner guitar is in excellent condition, no cracks and shows only a few slight dings and scrapes from handling and play. The original plastic bridge that was installed by Gibson has been replaced with a handmade Brazilian rosewood replacement (an upgrade) but otherwise the guitar is entirely original. The only other repair on the guitar is a small maple cap over the pin holes of the bridge plate that was installed here in my shop because of damage to the pin holes of the original plate, to give a firm footing to the ball ends. The body is entirely mahogany, with a mahogany neck and Brazilian rosewood fret board. The top is ladder braced and shows arch that is typical of Gibson instruments but not excessive and nothing to be concerned about. The neck is straight under tension and the truss rod is functional. The nut width is 1 21/32" (just shy of 1 11/16" but not quite as narrow as 1 5/8") and the pin spacing is 2". The neck angle is good and the action measures 6/64" at the low E and 5/64" at the high E with a full 1/8" of saddle left showing above the slot. The intonation is good all over the neck. The guitar has the mid-rangy sound that is typical of ladder braced and mahogany topped guitars, nice for ragtime or country blues finger picking. Crisp and clear with good sustain. Comes with the original faux alligator chipboard case which is in pretty good shape but not in as good condition as the guitar itself (handle, latches and hinges all present and functional). If an item is going to be returned it is at the buyer's expense and the item must be shipped within 24 hours of the buyer notifying Kovacik Guitars of intent to return. Any returned items must be shipped in the original packaging and MUST be fully insured when returned. Once an item is returned to Kovacik Guitars and judged to be in the same condition as when originally sold a full refund will be issued.
