Description

Summary: Constructed with the classic tonewood combination of a mahogany body and mahogany neck topped with a rosewood fretboard, this SG ups the ante with extended fret access (a full two octaves!) and its versatile combination of a Firebird mini humbucker in the neck and Toni Iommi Humbucker in the bridge. Expanding on this guitar's already versatile and dynamic tone, push-pull pots give you the option of coil-tapping for crisp single-coil sounds.

Body: Mahogany double cutaway. Cherry nitrocellulose finish.

Neck: Mahogany set neck with slim profile. 24-fret bound rosewood fretboard with acrylic trapezoid inlays.

Electronics/Hardware: Firebird Mini Humbucker in the neck position; Tony Iommi Signature humbucker in bridge. Two volume and two tone controls. Push/pull pots for coil tap on both pickups. Chrome hardware. Tune-o-matic bridge and stop tail piece. Kluson Deluxe tuners. 1965 SG Standard style "large" pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition with little sign of wear apart from some picking scratches on the pickguard. The extended fret neck makes a subtle variation on a classic design.

Playability: With its extended range and slim neck, this guitar is a shredder’s dream. The action is set low and the frets are full; playability is fast with no buzzing or fretting out. The hot Firebird pickup in the neck, and the Tommy Iommi Signature in the bridge (one of Gibson’s highest output humbuckers) make this guitar sound as mean as it looks. Coil taps on both pickups provide added versatility and cutting single coil tones. This guitar was built to rock out.

Weight: 6 lbs, 10 oz.

Case: Original hard shell.
