1965 was a transitional year for the Gibson SG Model. This Guitar combines features of both the earlier and later versions; it retains the smaller pickguard and Lyre Vibrola tailpiece of the early-mid 60's models but with original Chrome hardware in place of previous years' nickel appointments. It features a comfortable nut width right in between the wide and narrow era, measuring right around 1 10/16". The neck shape is similar to the deep '63-64 era necks and like earlier SGs features a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. This example has been professionally refinished in an era-correct Cherry but is free from any breaks or repairs. It includes the original 60's Rectangle style SG case.
