Description

1944 Gibson Southern Jumbo in very good condition. The banner guitars vary wildly in construction styles and sound it is hard to make generalizations. This one reminds us more of the guitars made in 1946 than most banner models. It has a great focus and power. Woody, dry, and clear but with the distinct Gibson midrange. The neck is five pieces with 13/4" nut width and adjustable truss rod. Recent neck reset and refret have it playing perfectly with proper saddle height. Uncut original bridge, bridge plate, tuners, and nut. There is an old repair of the sides in the upper bout cleanly done. There was a crack that went through the upper shoulders and through the heel but not the head-block. The work is clean and hard to find as it was over-sprayed once completed. Internally it is very clean with no changes or repairs. K&K pickup installed. Includes newer hard case.
