Amongst the most rare is this Gibson Poinsettia Ukulele.

Found in the depths of a house that recently changed hands locally!

It has been some time since Gibson build ukes, but back in the 20s and 30s they rode the wave and made some fantastic instruments.

This was a custom order, which escaped their price list at the time, though there is a solicitation for the custom offering therein. It is rumored that there are fewer than 10, perhaps a dozen of these unique pieces.

The uke has been played, but whomever did the time on it seems to have been aware that they could wipe out the artwork. There is a decent amount of wear on the lower register of the neck and the north side of the sound hole.

Otherwise, the uke is in fantastic, all-original and crack-free condition. The bridge shows wear from the gut string ties. There are even some old, spare, natural gut strings in the case.

Speaking of the case, it is original and it also is in amazingly great shape.

One for the ages!
