Description

Capital Guitars is very fortunate to be able to offer yet another amazing LP replica guitar from Israeli builder Gil Yaron. For a decade or so, Gil has built some of the most accurate and coveted replicas of 50's era Gibson classics. I've had several and his are among the finest LP replicas you can buy, regardless of price. It is terribly unfortunate, but legal considerations prevent Gil from making these guitars any longer, so those that have already been made are all that there will be.

Offered here is Gil's version of one of the earliest LP models, a 1954 Les Paul Gold Top. It's vital specifications include: a large, extremely soft V-shaped Mahogany neck with depth measurements of .95" at the first fret increasing to 1.00" at the twelfth fret; a pre-CITES era Brazilian Rosewood fretboard with era-correct inlays; .095" crown width fret wire; a 1.675" nylon nut; Yaron hand wound 50's style P-90 pickups; period-correct tuners; and NOS Bumble Bee caps and wiring harness. The total weight of this guitar is an incredibly light 7.8 pounds!

As with all of his replica models, the historical authenticity of this guitar is incredible. Gil spent years finding the vintage tools, materials and building methods necessary to assemble his replicas with such accuracy. The look and feel of this guitar is dripping with vintage vibe. Listen to the crude sound sample provided and I think you will agree that the tone is incredibly accurate and faithful to that of a vintage LP as well.

I am quite fussy about intonation, so I purchased a Pigtail intonatable wraparound bridge and studs for this guitar. I found, however, that the original bridge as supplied by Gil allows for perfect intonation and a very low, buzz free setup. The Pigtail components will be included with the sale should your ears be more sensitive than mine.

This guitar was given Gil's "mild" distressing and the result is incredibly realistic as I hope these photos will attest to. This aging aside, this instrument is in fabulous condition and the frets show little to no observable wear. It comes in a brown Gibson Lifton-style reproduction case with the Pigtail intonatable bridge and studs.

This is a fabulous, vintage style Yaron-built guitar, the likes of which are not to be seen again. Press the 'Buy Now' button and make it yours!
