Here's a GREAT playing Gretsch, in better than average "Typical Gretsch" condition. Yes, it has binding rot, that's how you know you've got a genuine vintage Gretsch. It's worst on the neck heel cap. Most of that has crumbled away. The binding on the body is all intact, and not very bad. The neck set angle is not bad, yes, the bridge is almost as low as it will go, BUT, the action is extremely low. 1/16" above the fret closest to the body. The good news here, is with the shallower neck angle, the pickups are close to the strings. This makes the guitar louder than Tenneseans usually are. Sounds killer. The neck is thin from front to back, but a full 1 11/16" at the nut. Feels sort of like an early '60s Gibson neck, maybe a little thicker than that, but not much. It's nice and straight. The frets are small, but in perfect condition, no wear at all. All original, and all electronics work perfectly. Has its original case too. Bigsby is very smooth and works great. The finish on the body is in very good condition. A few dings and dents here and there. Some finish worn off the back of the neck, but feels wonderful. Seriously, this is a really good Gretsch. Plays considerably better than most Gretsches, in fact, it plays like a million bucks, but it only costs two grand. Can't beat a bargain like that, right? Give us a call...
