Description

Summary: The Guild B-301, produced for a few short years between 1977 and 1981, is one of the most iconic Guild basses. The offset body is well-proportioned and has a distinctive look that screams rock and roll.

Body: Twin cutaway mahogany offset solid body.

Neck: Mahogany set-neck with maple stringer at back. Rosewood fretboard with white pearl dot inlays. 20 heavy frets. Chesterfield headstock inlay. 34” scale.

Pickups/Hardware: Single-coil Guild pickup. Volume and tone controls with “G shield” knobs. Multi-adjustable BT-4 bridge. Grover open gear tuners.

Cosmetics: This instrument is pretty good shape but it does show normal wear consistent with a well-loved & played bass guitar from 1980. There are some buckle rash marks on the back and some small dings & nicks around the edges of the instrument. The pickguard shows various scratches & wear. There is a few notable dings around the bridge but they don’t show up very well in photos because this glossed natural finish is awesome & hides most of the wear. There are two small holes where someone tried to put the strap button in a different place but they don’t affect the structural integrity of the bass. There is also some cool checking that has developed on the back of the neck in the gloss finish.

Playability: This bass plays great – the action is medium but comfortable & the bass has a great bridge that allows for lots of adjustments if needed. The frets are in great shape & have a ton of life left in them.

Modifications: N/A

Weight: 8 lbs, 12 oz.
