Description

Offered here is an acoustic guitar worthy of careful consideration by guitar collectors and players alike. This exquisite guitar is F30K number 34 of just 60 examples built by the Guild Custom Shop for the company's 60th Diamond Anniversary in 2013.

The F30K is an OM-sized, 14-fret guitar with a 25.5" scale. The top, back and sides are made of the finest quality Koa (AAAAA grade). The top bracing is made of Red (Adirondack) Spruce. The finish is natural gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. The body and neck are bound in Rosewood, the purfling is fancy multi-color Abalone and the Rosette is made of Mother-of-Pearl. The neck is a three piece design made with two layers of Mahogany surrounding a thin center layer of Walnut for strength and stability. The neck has a low oval shape with a depth of .86" at the first fret. The Ebony fretboard has a 12" radius is inlaid with MOP and Abalone with the "1953-2013" 60th Anniversary logo inlaid at the 12th fret. It has a bone nut measuring 1.75" wide. It has a Ebony bridge with a bone compensated saddle, 2-1/4" string spacing and bone bridge pins. The headstock is overlaid with Koa and has a genuine diamond inlaid to dot the "i" in the Guild MOP logo inlay. It is equipped with gold Waverly tuners with Rosewood buttons.

This incredible guitar was built by Guild's Custom Shop under the supervision of the legendary builder Ren Ferguson, formerly of Gibson. Pick it up and it is immediately evident that this is a hand-crafted instrument made of the highest quality materials. There is lots of "bling" but this guitar is much more than just fancy cosmetics. It plays superbly and is responsive to your touch. It is setup nicely with 12th fret string heights of 6/64" on the low E side and 5/64" on the high E side. The tone is full and clear with nice tight low frequencies, warm mids and crisp highs.

This rare model has seen little to no play and is in near mint condition. I cannot find any real evidence of play anywhere on the guitar and the frets show no observable wear. It comes in it's original brown Guild 60th Anniversary case, along with the certificate of authenticity signed by Ren Ferguson, the brown leather strap, the truss rod tool and other paperwork. The 60 examples of this model listed for $7K and sold for $6K back in 2013. A guitar built today with Koa of this quality would sell for far more. Get this extremely well-preserved example of this rare model for far less. There is a lot to like about this beautiful guitar. Make it yours!
