Description

You don't have one of these. These are pretty rare and they are pretty distinctive. From the "kickstand" to the asymmetrical headstock to the Fender Jaguar-like dual circuit, they are one of the more unusual guitars to come out of the 60's. Interestingly and for reasons unknown, the early ones were built with hum buckers and the later ones with single coils. Maybe it wasn't enough to emulate the Jaguar circuit, maybe they need to emulate its pickups as well. After all, Fender owned the solid body market back then. This one is equipped with hum buckers. Some of these Thunderbirds had neck angle issues. This one is perfect. Great neck profile too-a full 1 3/4" at the nut and .88" depth at the first fret and .96" at the 12th. It's a guitar that says you don't care what everybody else is playing. It's just you and Zal (Yanovsky of Lovin' Spoonful) and, for a minute, Muddy (Waters). It has its share of wear, scrapes and dings but it is all there and plays and sounds great. Original case in very good condition.
