Summary: Harmony introduced the Stratotone series as an affordable set of solid-bodies to go along with their range of acoustics and archtops. The H49 Jupiter was at the higher-end of the Stratotone line-up, and featured two pickups and chambered body construction. This instrument was only produced between 1958-1965.

Body: Solid body with a single cutaway & chambering to make it lighter. This guitar has a fully bound maple body with a spruce top.

Neck: This guitar has a hardwood neck with 20 frets and pearloid block inlays. This neck is a bolt-on neck and it has 3 screws to hold in onto the body. This neck is fully bound. The first 7 frets do have some fret wear but the frets still have some life left in them. The scale length is around 24.25” and the nut width is about 1 11/16”. The tuning keys are kluson deluxe style tuners with white buttons & appear to be in great shape, however, they are probably replacement tuners.

Pickups/Hardware: Two great sounding Teisco gold foil style pickups single coil pickups (the ones favored by Ry Cooder) with 2 volume knobs, 2 tone knobs & a blender knob – this guitar also has a 3 way switch. This Jupiter has a 2 piece wooden bridge, trapeze tailpiece and a cool Tortoiseshell pickguard

Cosmetics: This guitar is in good condition but there is some considerable wear around the edges of the pickguard, the neck also shows lots of wear on the back. There are several dings on the top & a big buckle rash place on the back. This guitar has been well-played and is all set up and ready for some more!

Playability: This is a great playing instrument. It been set up by our in house tech and is ready to go with low action.

Weight: 4 lbs, 12 oz.

Case: This guitar comes with an old school dark gray chipboard case.
