Wonderful sounding octave mandolin by master builder Michael Heiden. It is a hybrid of sorts combining the lower register bellow of an octave mandolin with a mini archtop frame. It features the same body design of Michael’s 16” and 17” jazz guitar models scaled to 14”. This one is made with figured maple back and sides with an Adi spruce top and configured to a 21.5” scale. Ebony bridge, fingerboard and headstock plate. The top produces Adi volume and sustain with its share of nuance. The condition is as new with one spot of buckle wear on the back that could most likely be buffed out. The owner has made a quick iPhone video but there are several others on YouTube. Consignment. Offers considered.
