1988 was a most excellent year and for many reasons. Hard rock and Heavy Metal were in full swing and tours were plentiful. There were more bands than you could count playing local bars and clubs and if you were lucky enough to be in a decent band, then let's just say that there was a lot of love in the air. The guitars and basses of that time were also among the best to ever be produced and that's exactly where this JEM777 steps in.

This Desert Yellow JEM is a fantastic representation of those late, great '80s that's still holding up to this day. I knew a lot of guys that loved the thin, lightning-fast Wizard neck and the hot DiMarzio pickups. If you played one of these JEMs back in the day, it meant that your parents probably had money or you would find yourself hitting the stage with a Hondo II. That's just the way it was- you know, starving musician and all...

This guitar has been gone over from head to toe by our superb house tech, El Hefe. After doing the magic that he does so well, we received a huge thumbs up from him and that means this guitar will arrive ready to rock, straight out of the box. There are several dings, surface scratches and light belt marks on it, but that's just from normal playing over the last 35 years. If you check out the photos, you'll see the requisite checking marks on each side of the neck pocket that are purely superficial- this guitar is structurally as solid as a rock. There are some pick marks on the pickguard and the later, maroon interior Ibanez case has a broken combination latch. But, it too is clean and structurally sound.

If you want to go back in time when all was right in the world, then this is the guitar that will take you there. You can once again make memories and music- all you have to do is strap her on and plug her in. Please take a look at the photos and call, email, or PM with any questions!
