1986 Ibanez RG140 Roadstar II

Summary: The Ibanez Roadstar II series was introduced in 1983 and produced for Hoshino Gakki and sold under the Ibanez brand. The Roadstar is a rough approximation of the classic Fender strat and this one has 2 single coil pickups & a humbucker with tone knob push button to make it a single coil. This instrument also comes with the original case & the original whammy bar!

Body: Solid basswood body, double cutaway with a beautiful deep red finish & a matching red headstock.

Neck: Maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, dot inlays, original tuning keys, matching red headstock, RG140 sticker on the back of the headstock.

Pickups/Hardware: 2 single coil pickups, one humbucker(with push button tone knob to make it a single coil), black pickguard, black pickup covers, tremolo system, volume knob, tone knob w/ push button pot, 5-way switch, original Ibanez tuning keys.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in fabulous shape considering it is from the mid 1980’s. There are lots of pick scratches on the black pickguard & a few nicks & dings on the body. There is some light buckle rash on the back but overall the beauty of this deep red color will overshadow any imperfections.

Playability: We set this vintage Ibanez up with a new set of 10’s and it plays and sounds great. The action is low & the truss rod is fully working.

Weight: 7 lbs, 15 oz.

Case: This vintage Ibanez comes with the original Ibanez hardshell case – this case is grey with the Ibanez logo on the top & it has black interior. The original whammy bar is also included!
