About the OC SUPA:

I bought a ton of vintage radios last year and harvested enough vintage Mullard transistors to build 3 authentic sounding Supa Fuzz clones. I dialed these in using my vintage 1968 Marshall Supa Fuzz on the bench to compare and set the initial bias. The Supa Fuzz is a few components away from the Tone Bender MKII, but they make quite a difference in sound. The Supa is fatter and a little more "sweet" than the brash Bender. It doesn't get much better than one of these for classic late 60s british blues and rock tones. Check out the demo.

This pedal is powered by either a 9 volt battery, a 2.1mm 9 volt center negative power supply, or the "free energy" one of my "customers" once insisted could power these things if we all just believed hard enough.

That guy was about as 1968 as I've ever seen - and really reminds me of this pedal. A brilliant, unbelievable blast from the past - a great time, but kind of unpredictable and finicky. I've included a bias trim pot on the PCB because with temperature fluctuations this pedal may fall out of operating range. You may experience no signal, or a loud squeal at certain settings. This is normal! My vintage pedal does this. It does not have a bias control to help tame it. Yours will!!!

PLEASE NOTE: because germanium transistors are PNP, this pedal is positive ground. This means you cannot power it with a daisy chain plugged into other pedals, as most other pedals are negative ground. It will work just fine with any isolated power brick, like a Voodoo Labs, MXR ISO, Strymon or similar.
