Description

Just in on consignment is this fabulous Bluesmaster by Johan Gustavsson of Sweden. Most of you who are reading this listing are likely to recognize this as among the finest solid body electric guitars ever crafted.

Johan built this marvelous 'Bluesmaster Custom 59' in 2011. Like the iconic Les Paul Standard it was inspired by, the Bluesmaster has a mahogany body topped with highly figured maple. It has a mahogany neck with a chunky C-shape, sculpted shoulders and depth measurements of .894" at the first fret, increasing to .988" at the twelfth fret. The luscious Brazilian rosewood fretboard is nearly as dark as ebony. It is equipped with two ThroBak SLE Limited PAF-style humbuckers, a three-way switch, separate volume and tone controls for each pickup and a push/pull coil split switch on the bridge pickup's tone control. It is finished in a lightly distressed ice tea burst nitrocellulose lacquer. It is fitted with a Gustavsson wrap-around tailpiece with adjustable brass saddles and Kluson vintage style tuners. This example (serial number 26011) has a total weight of just 8 pounds, 6 ounces and is perfectly balanced when strapped-on.

Specifications alone fail to convey what a wonderful instrument this is for the creation of music. Guitars hand-crafted by Johan are relatively rare, but each of few I've been fortunate to play has earned a postion on my short list of "best ever" electrics. This guitar has joins that list!

When you play this guitar the basic Gibson LP formula is obvious, but the quality of execution is of a level that not even the finest Gibson can approach. This is an instrument that will spoil you for most any other LP-style instrument, regardless of vintage or cost. Gil Yaron is the only other builder who's guitars are in the same class IMHO. The playability and tone are superb. I've included a brief sound sample below, but my limited skills only begin to demonstrate the the creative possibilities of this instrument in the hands of a talented musician.

This one-owner guitar has been treated like the treasure that it is and could easily pass for a new build. It remains in exemplary condition with no flaws of any significance. Beyond the very light aging Johan gave it, faint scratches on the headstock and pickguard are the only flaws to be found. As the included pics show, the frets remain in near new condition as well. It comes to you in it's original and very high quality hard case along with all the original documentation.

Treat yourself to a work of luthier fine art with this fabulous Gustavsson Bluesmaster Custom 59. You are not likely to find a better LP style guitar anywhere at any price. Click the 'Buy Now' button and make it yours while this relatively rare opportunity presents itself. You will be VERY glad you did!
