Kendrick Texas Crude Gusher, 50-Watt Tweed
You are seeing this rare Texas Crude 50-watt Gusher as we purchased it- with the channels jumped. I plugged it up and was immediately impressed- this amp has more than its share of balls. But, to be sure it did what it was supposed to do (and because bass players don't know squat about two-channel guitar heads,) I called in the calvary, the one known as "El Jefe" and had him put the amp through its paces.
Both channels are strong and the bright channel is noticeably... brighter. To me, the amp lends itself more to a clean tone but dirties up nicely when pushed. We left the fixed/cathode switch as it was and were quite pleased with the overall performance of the amp. Now, I have to admit I didn't even know this model existed before acquiring this head so my knowledge is limited. We welcome any comments, advice, or assistance with identifying and explaining the details of the amp. I'm pretty sure that most Kendrick guys will already know what's up and can lend a hand if need be.
The amp is clean and original as far as we can tell. The label says "Model 2000" and is signed by Gerald, but not dated. The serial number is 0595- maybe that can help with the dating. The condition is clean- please take a look at the photos to get a clear idea.
