Description

Offered here is one of the earliest examples of the Lentz HSL (Hybrid Scott Lentz) which was completed in January of 2006. Based on the classic Tele design, the HSL's modified layout and electronics make for a much more flexible guitar, one that can cover almost any kind of music you can throw at it.

This gorgeous instrument offers the following specifications: a light weight, Ash body with binding on top, finished in two tone sunburst nitro lacquer; a lightly figured Rock Maple neck with a very soft V shape and depth measurements of .920" at the first fret increasing to 1.00" at the twelfth fret; a gorgeous Indian Rosewood fretboard with 9.5" radius, 6105 fret wire and a 1.655" bone nut; a Gotoh vintage style bridge with brass compensated saddles; and for electronics, a Lentz L-90 in the neck position and a Lentz B'Kaster single coil in the bridge position with matching pots, paper and oil cap, a three way switch and VVT. The headstock of this early example of this model is hand-signed by Scott Lentz. This guitar has a total weight of just 7.0 pounds.

This combination of pickups and and a volume control for each pickup makes the HSL an extremely versatile beast. You can get a ton of tones out of this baby! And being a Lentz-built guitar, it plays like warm butter and you won't want to put her down.

Completed in January, 2006 this beauty has seen it's share of play, but has not been abused. I've done my best to buff out the worst of it, but the guitar shows some hard to see clearcoat scratching, primarily on the back. The worst of the wear which remains are a few impressions in the area of the input jack (see photo). The frets are in superb condition showing little wear. It comes in it's original blonde G&G case which is in great condition.

I'm a huge fan of Lentz guitars. If you've played a Lentz, you already know why. If you haven't, try one and you will quickly be a fan. Highly recommended!
