Offered is this spectacular Lentz S built during the era before the threat of legal action forced Scott to change the shape of the Lentz headstock. Lentz guitars built during this period tend to be treasured by guitar afficionados because of their very high quality and vintage vibe. I've been lucky to have three from this era lately, the previous two sold rather quickly.
This instrument has a two-piece Alder body with a Lamp Black nitrocellulose finish. It has Scott's soft V to C-shaped Maple neck with depth measurements of .92" at the 1st fret and 1.00" at the 12th fret. It has a gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood fretboard with a 9.5" radius, 6105 frets and a 1.65" bone nut. The electronics include Scott's own vintage output single coils and the guitar weighs just 7.5 pounds.
Playing this instrument is like finding an affordable and eminantely playable vintage Fender Strat from the late 50's. It just feels and sounds like a Strat should, although Lentz guitars play far better than most any vintage Strat you are likely to come across. The tone of this instrument is true to it's roots too; just listen to the short sound sample provided; quacky and clear!
This guitar has been played; the great one's typically have been. It shows a few impressions hear and there and one tiny finish chip (see photo). The neck is straight and true and the frets remain in very good condition (also shown in photos). It comes in it's original blonde G&G case which remains in terrific condition. Despite it's few cosmetic flaws, this Lentz remains a fabulous performer and a superb example of what a high-end Strat should be. This is the kind of Strat that a professional player might choose to take on the road while their $25K vintage Strat remains safely at home.

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
