The James Tyler Variax gives you an endless variety of guitar sounds, from classic acoustic and vintage electric tones all the way to baritone, alternate tunings, sitar and banjo, plus the onboard SSS pickup configuration in a double-cutaway, 25-1/2" scale-length guitar designed by one of the world's finest luthiers.
Body: Alder with a gloss black finish.
Neck: Maple with a Maple fingerboard, 25.5” scale length, 1 5/8” nut width, 22 frets, black dot inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: SSS pickup configuration features vintage-style single-coil pickups loaded with alnico magnets and wound to James Tyler's specs, locking tuning keys, Variax Interface for using with Line 6 products, L. R. Baggs Radiance Hex piezo pickup system, Model knob and Alt Tune roller knob for easily accessing 28 vintage instrument sounds and 11 alternate tunings, black pickguard/pickup covers.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition. The body has light surface scratches and regular wear on the pickguard. The back of the neck is clean and smooth, and the frets are in great shape.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
