The Marshall 1974x is a reissue of one of Marshall's most coveted and iconic amplifiers, made for just two years in the later 1960s.  Original versions are impossible to find and are valued in the tens of thousands of dollars.  Referred to as the 18-watt, this version is neatly hand wired using quality components to bring some killer tone.

The amp is a beauty.  There is a little tolex separation at some of the corners, which could be re-glued easily enough.  Other than that, the amp is in excellent, very clean condition with no repairs, changes or issues.

The pictures show the tubes that were in the amp on arrival, including the Marshall labeled preamp tubes.  We tested the Ruby power tubes after taking pictures.  One tested as "worn", so a new set of JJ EL84s were installed.  All the other tunes tested well and sound as they should.

This is a louder amp than you might think, but manageable nonetheless.  It is also quite portable.  It takes pedals well.  The natural output tube distortion is unparalleled and is pure Marshall.  The tremolo is rich sounding as well.  There is no tremolo footswitch included.

A must-have for any true amp freak!
