Description

Well, let's start by saying this head had the spank and punch of a Cat D9 diesel engine. The power of this amp is incredible and you have to push it to get that creamy breakup, but when you do get there, by all that is holy this thing is magnificent. It's also a bit of an anomaly because of how we found it out in the wilderness, all alone.

Being # 129 of only 300 made, you would think that it was kept with its matching cabinet, paperwork and boxes, but no, we found this one all by itself, in a stack of amps in the corner of the Dallas Show. I had to do a double-take to make sure of what I was looking at as I walked by, but sure enough, there she sat, the forgotten prom date. I made sure that didn't last long...

Having got this JTM back to the Elkcave, it was time to dial down onto it. You'll clearly see that it is part of the limited run, but the head itself has obtained a few scuffs and small tears in the tolex. I winced a small bit at the sight of these, but they were soon forgotten when I reached for that Loudness knob for the first time. Consider small imperfections and signs of wear officially forgotten.

We also have the added bonus of Jim Marshall's autograph on the bottom from 2006. That's a cool way of getting an official stamp of approval by the man himself and we'll take that any and every time! This JTM has been thoroughly checked out and played- that first "A" chord felt like a Mike Tyson punch that I'm sure my cabinet was not happy with. We have documented the physical condition clearly so you know what will arrive.

Please take a look at the photos, let us know if you have any questions and as always, we thank you for stopping by!
