Description

We have sold several pearl top Martins this year- the pinnacle of flat top guitars. This one is rivaled in condition only by the 1937 000-45 we recently sold. Many pearl tops have a crack repair or two, changed parts, and some degree of finish work. This is not one of them. This instrument is untouched and has zero cracks. Also, this is a RARE model. Only 392 0-42s were made in the history of Martin, considerably fewer than the 00-42 model. This one conforms to the typical 42 style with generous inlays of mother of pearl and abalone. No changed parts, no repairs, no cracks, and a completely original finish. It is a truly stunning example of a pearl top Martin. The guitar also sounds incredible- trifecta of tone- Adirondack spruce, Brazilian rosewood, and scalloped braces. And it is set up perfectly. Given the rarity, condition, and history of this guitar we are pricing this guitar at 25,000 dollars. Braced for and handles steel strings just fine.
