1971 Martin 00-16C Excellent, Original Hard, $1,495.00

Martin nylon-string guitars have a very special place in the guitar world. They're not quite steel-string Martins, they don’t have quite specs of more traditional classical guitars, but……….they’re surely Martin guitars all the way and very special ones at that and have their very own place in our American music, and folks who are fortunate enough to own them treasure them. This 00-16C is made to the body shape and size of the 00-size Martins going all the way back to the 1870s. It is lightly braced for nylon strings, has the traditional 2”-wide classical nut, and its tone and feel are pure Martin, all the way. They haven’t made any models like this in at least forty years, but with its mahogany back and sides, spruce top and rosewood fingerboard and bridge, beautiful satin lacquer finish and hand-fit dovetail neck joint, if they were to make a guitar like this now it would cost over $3,000. It is in wonderful original condition with no repairs ever having been needed. There are a few nicks and scratches here and there, but that’s about it.
