Description

SALE PRICE. Continuing our tradition of offering amazing vintage Martins, here is a 1929 PEARL TOP Martin, one of the rarest of the rare. Extremely few of these were ever made. Exquisite details, high end materials, and exacting standards from Martin's golden era. 12 frets to the small body. The inlays around the Brazilian rosewood/Adirondack body are breathtaking. Scalloped bracing under the hood. Hide glue construction on this handmade 87 year old work of art instrument. Remarkable condition for an instrument of this vintage and size. No cracks in the back or sides and only one tiny top crack is present. No head stock crack, no heel crack, no punctures. A VERY old and extremely well done refinish is present, debatably. Refinish on this guitar is extraordnarily hard to detect and some would say this is the original finish. It is our opinion the refinish was done in the 1940s, to the highest standards of professionalism. But again, some would say no refinish is present. The tuners are replacements and the bridge is a hand carved period correct pyramid replacement as well. Don't let this masterpiece pass you by. No work is needed and the action is very comfortable. Converted to Spanish/standard style, amazing sound. 14000 dollars.
