Whenever folks ask, I always say that the Adirondack top is the most important component to the legendary tone that pre war and war time Martins are known for. 1945 was the last year for adi tops at Martin and this war time beast slides in to include the feature. Adirondack top over tapered braces is something one sees in only very late 1944 and 1945 year model instruments. The tone that produces is something to behold in awe. No boutique maker and Martin as a moden company can replicate the sound that these fine instruments produce. Particularly the mahogany outfitted guitar, I am partial to. Small body Martins with Adirondack top and seventy plus year old mahogany are special and the absolutely ideal piece to record with or mic at a gig, no matter the venue. This guitar has no changed parts and a totally original finish. Even the tuners and tuner buttons are straight from 1945, the day the guitar left the factory. It has a couple of repaired cracks. It needs nothing but a new owner. No heel crack, no head stock crack, and no punctures. This is a LOT of guitar for the money. 6,900 dollars.
