Description

1941 Martin 000-42 in very good condition. This guitar has been well loved and for good reason as this 000 sounds resoundingly focused with very clear mids and strong support in the bass and shimmery trebles. The neck has a fantastic profile with wear through the finish for a burnished feel. The playability is spot on perfect thanks to a refret (with vintage size wire) and neck reset by Tom. Although there is visible wear the condition is better than it appears. The lines on the top appear to have been scratched in with a pencil and are not cracks. There are two repaired top cracks from the bridge to the lower bout. Tom installed a TJ Thompson exact reproduction bridge. The original bridge had been previously shaved down beyond the point of saving. Constructed with an abalone bound spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard. The original Waverly "Yoda-head" tuners are present as are all bridge pins and end pin. This guitar has a scale length of 24.9", fingerboard width at the nut of 1 11/16", thickness at the first fret of .82", thickness at the tenth fret of 1.02", and weighs 4.10 lbs exactly. This guitar comes with the original black hardshell case with green lining, one piece of the lining has been replaced as has the handle.
