1937 Martin 000-45

This guitar is among the most special we have ever sold at Dying Breed Music and arguably the best when considering condition. This guitar has the exact same specs as a pre war d-45 (the true holy grail of all acoustic guitars). It is in immaculate condition. This was the flag ship small body model at Martin, only below the D-45. Pre World War 2 D-45s have sold for 400,000. This 000-45 is near mint. No cracks, no changed parts, no finish work. In my estimation this is the best condition 30s Martin I've ever seen. It is housed in the original case. 45 style was the highest degree of ornamentation. The 45 style was a big upgrade over the 42. All hand done inlays—binding with abalone pearl inlays (on the top, back, sides, and neck heel), “boxed” inlay on the end piece, a completely bound fretboard with pearl inlays, a pearl inlaid rosette, multicolored mosaic back strip, gold tuners, and a beautiful head stock inlay with extra pearl. Just slightly smaller body than the D-45. The 000-45 was discontinued when World War 2 started in 1942 just like the D-45. 18 000-45s were made in the year 1937. Total produced before being discontinued in 1942 was 265.
1906 was the first year for the 000-45 all the way until 1942. The rarity, history, and components- abalone, mother of pearl, gold tuners, the best Adirondack spruce, forward shifted scalloped bracing, Brazilian back and sides, 1 3/4 nut, ebony fretboard and bridge, condition, and originality in combination necessitate a value of 195,000 dollars.
