1929 Martin 5KT tenor ukulele
This is one of only 9 prewar abalone-trimmed tenor ukuleles that were ever made by Martin. For the ukulele collector it is the apex of any serious collection. This is the crème de la crème - the best materials, the finest craftsmanship, from the finest maker of prewar ukuleles. It is crack-free, has a gorgeous golden glow as the lacquer has aged over the last 94 years. There are about 750 soprano 5K ukuleles and only 9 of these tenors. Any prewar pearl-trimmed Martin instrument is a member of a certain royalty. This very ukulele is in the fantastic book “Martin Guitars: A Technical Reference” by Richard Johnson and Dick Boak.
