Description

Offered for your consideration is this lovely Martin Custom OM-41 Koa beauty. Built in 2016, this wonderful instrument has seen little to no play and is in near mint condition.

As an Ochestra Model, this is of course a 000-sized, 14 fret instrument with a 25.4" string scale. It has a Select Sitka Spruce top, scalloped 1/4" bracing and highly figured Koa for the back and sides. It has a hardwood neck with a fast, Low Profile neck shape and a 1-11/16" bone nut. The Custom Shop has bestowed this beauty with lovely 41 style Abalone top inlays and a style 45 rosette. The guitar is bound in Ebony and the fretboard gets fancy style 42 Koa and Paua inlays. It has an Ebony belly bridge with 2-1/8" string spacing. It has a solid square headstock with volute and an Flamed Ebony overlay. The tuners are gold Waverlys with Ebony buttons.

This guitar is beautiful to look at and even better to play and listen to. Please check out the brief sound sample I've included. It has that voice that Martin guitars are known for and to my ear the Koa gives it a tone that strikes just the right balance between warmth and clarity. It plays like a new instrument. It is currently set up with light gauge strings with 12th fret string heights of 6/32" on the low E side and 4/32" on the high E side.

As noted above, this guitar was built in 2016 and has seen little if any play. I can find just one tiny indentation (see photo) behind the bridge and otherwise the guitar is near flawless, frets included. The guitar comes in it's original Geib-style case, also in near mint condition.

This guitar had MAP of $11.5K and sold for somewhere north of $9K. Get it now, in near mint condition for half that amount. I don't think you will find a nicer Martin OM at a better price anywhere. Make this beauty yours.
