Description

1966 Martin D-18 in very good condition. The last of the tortoise bound and pickguard and glued in saddle. These are still some of the best sounding D-18s available for the price. The neck shape is a full soft V shape similar to the late 30s. A nice solid handful of a neck. The frets are full height and in great shape. Back and sides are crack free with the top having a center seam repair and two small repaired cracks along with the ubiquitous pickguard crack. The finish is all original as are the tuners, bridge, nut, bridge pins and end pin. This guitar is all about the sound. It has everything you could want in a non-scalloped D-18. It is crisp as can be. The power is endless, the more you dig in the more it responds. The perfect match for a strong right handed player who wants to be heard at will. Single note lines are clear and pure. The set-up is medium in the summertime with 7/64-6/64 inch action at the 12th fret. Has not had the neck reset and does not ned one. Includes hard shell case.
