Summary: The most popular Vintage Series model, the HD-28V is a modern re-creation of the classic herringbone Dreadnought. Channeling legends like Hank Williams, this guitar carries a distinct prestige that can only come from the Vintage Series collection.

Body: Dreadnought body size with a solid sitka spruce top and East Indian rosewood back & sides. The top is fully bound with the classic herringbone & fully bound back.

Neck: Mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard – diamond & squares inlay pattern with abalone pearl. Vintage open back Waverly tuning machines. This instrument has 20 frets & a nut width of 1 11/16”. The scale length is 25.4”. The neck shape is a modified V.

Pickups/Hardware: No electronics, open back Waverly tuning machines, scalloped bracing, bone nut & saddle, Dovetail neck joint, Bold Herringbone top inlays, grained Ivoroid binding and a multi-striped Rosette.

Cosmetics: This instrument is in really good shape – if you look really hard you may find a ding but I couldn’t find anything except some light pick scratching & some minor scuffing on the back of the guitar. The light pick scratches are mainly located on the pickguard & the scuffing is on the back at the bottom of the instrument.

Playability: This baby plays like butter – smooth & easy! The action is low & the guitar plays with no dead spots & no buzzing. The frets are in great shape & have most of their life left. This guitar was fully set up by our in-house luthier with 12’s and is ready to be loved and played.
