Guitars like this old Martin OM-28 (1932) come around once in a generation. This extraordinary-sounding guitar is from the middle of Martin's original run of OM production, and has never been worked on but for a TJ Thompson neck reset and refret (proper bar fret stock). It's 100% original--original finish with no touch-ups, original bridge, original bridgeplate--except for the low E string tuner. There's one deep scratch in the top (treble side, lower bout) and one small crack in the back (see photos). Other than those punch-list items, this guitar is as it was in 1932, except for many decades of significant playtime (which produced the wear visible in our photos).

For anyone looking for the coveted pre-war Martin magic, it'd be near-impossible to find a more textbook example than this guitar. Smooth, effortless playability, and a voice that sings with dry, woody thunder. High-end sparkle and complexity to die for, with limitless depth and dynamic range. Quite simply, one of the greatest-sounding guitars we've ever had in the shop. It's priced with a high-quality period HSC, but nice Calton Cases are also available.
