Description

New-old-stock from the inventory of the now closed Vintage Fret Shop in Ashland, NH...Signed on the label by Pete Seeger and CF Martin IV, with Seeger's signature also inlaid in the headstock just above the nut along with a pearl inlay of Seeger's long neck banjo. This baritone guitar (can be tuned as low as Bb) is the longest scale guitar ever built at Martin, coming in at 27 5/8". The body is a huge 17" across the lower bout with full dreadnought depth. The nut width of 1 3/4" and slender barrel profile of the neck makes playing this beast less challenging that one might judge simply by looking at its proportions. It is very comfortable to play. Premium grade rosewood back and sides, herringbone trimmed Sitka spruce top that is tinted with aging toner. The triangular-ish sound hole and double pick guards replicate those on the iconic 12 string that Seeger played in the 60s. The guitar has three minor lacquer checks radiating from the bass side corners of the bridge and one from the treble side corner. Ships to US only, NYS residents add 8% sales tax. Original hard case.
