The SPD-16 features solid mahogany back and sides paired with an excellent quality straight grain and well quarter sawn Sitka spruce top, mahogany neck and Indian rosewood fret board and bridge. The fret board is inlaid with abalone diamonds and squares, cats eye, and snowflake inlays, as is the bridge and the rosette is abalone pearl as well. Tortoise binding finishes off the elegant look of this late 90s Martin. The guitar has a 1 11/16" nut width and 2 1/8" pin spacing, standard for most of the Martin line, and a very comfortable/modern slim barrel profile. The guitar has no cracks and is entirely original, shows little sign of play or handling save for some faint strum marks on the pick guard. There's no fret wear and I find no dings or dents in the finish, never even had a strap button installed. The top seam has been professionally reglued at some point, it is flat/level/stable but other than that the guitar doesn't appear to have had any repair and doesn't need anything at this time. The neck angle is good and the guitar is set up with action at 7/64" and 6/64" with just a hair under 1/8" of saddle showing. It delivers a crisp, woody tone that is weighted toward midrange and treble but with plenty of bottom to balance out. Comes with its original hard case. $1500 + shipping, NY buyers add 8% sales tax.

Items are sold with a 48 hour approval period unless clearly marked "AS IS" in the listing. AS IS items are not returnable. If an item is going to be returned it is at the buyer's expense and the item must be shipped within 24 hours of the buyer notifying Kovacik Guitars of intent to return. Any returned items must be shipped in the original packaging and MUST be fully insured when returned. Once an item is returned to Kovacik Guitars and judged to be in the same condition as when originally sold a full refund will be issued.
