Description

SN. 14436. The modern National El Trovador was modeled after the same model made by National in the early 30s. The body is solid mahogany with a 4" depth, a solid mahogany neck with ebony fret board and a single resonator cone. The body is bound in ivoroid with black/white purfling dressing the top, side edges and the resonator cover plate as well. This example is the 12 version of this model. The nut width is 1 3/4", making the fret board very comfortable for finger style play. The action is set at just a hair above 6/64" at the low E measured at the 12th fret, making it very comfortable for finger picking. The truss rod is adjusted currently for a very straight neck with little relief. The guitar plays well with no buzz anywhere and the intonation is good. If you were to want to do slide playing on it you may want to have the action raised a bit though. The guitar was very well kept by it's current owner, it has only a few minor scratches on the back to tell that it was used at all. The frets are in excellent condition with no visible wear and the guitar overall presents as cosmetically and functionally excellent. Sonically the guitar is huge, you won't be disappointed. Comes with its original hard shell case. $2250
