1941 National Lap Steel Excellent, Original Soft, $720.00

It’s quite unusual to see one of these Nations lap steels, with the ultra-cool pickup, from any earlier than the 1950s but here we have a pre-war one, extremely rare. The early versions have their (Valco! Yes!) pickup pole-pieces arranged differently than the later ones and have got their own unique tone. One thing’s for sure: this one is powerful. Still has its original cloth-covered line cable with nice fat original all-metal 1/4” phone plug, and excellent volume and tone control backplates, radially numbered. Tuners are modern replacements, thankfully. Original soft case, sorta useful. $720 w/xosc
