Description

The Reso-Phonic was offered from the mid-fifties to about 1968. This is an acoustic guitar with a solid body, aluminum resonator, and two cover plates, one front and one rear. The foil serial number sticker with the '1' prefix, appears to date this one to 1966. Because of the solid wood body, the guitar has some heft to it. Fingerboard shape is a modern 'C' profile. The wood body is covered in the quintessential MOTS aka 'mother of toilet seat plastic. This pink tone is actually quite rare, if not jaunty.

Scale length is a hair over 22", and what appears to be a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard measures ~ 1 5/8" across at the nut. The tuners are the original enclosed Klusons. All components on the guitar appear to be original, with no evidence of prior repairs.

One convenient feature of the Reso-Phonic is the adjustable neck. Want higher action for slide? Just pop the two screw covers on back, tweak, re-cover and play. Takes literally seconds for this to happen, if a screw driver is handy!

The Reso-Phonic is actually quite fun to play, and is a serious guitar. It has a nasally tone with adequate projection. Also, because of its size, can be a really cool travel guitar.

Come with a gig bag.
