Description

Offered here is an Orca 59, Nik Huber's version of a the venerable '59 Les Paul. This German-built masterpiece was completed in 2014 and remains in superb condition.

This incredible guitar has a solid Mahogany body with an Eastern Curly Maple top and a Mahogany set neck. The Cherry Sunburst finish is a semi-gloss nitro lacquer which gives the guitar a slightly aged look and vintage feel. The neck has a killer 50's round shape, this one with depth measurements of .930" at the first fret and 1.00" at the twelfth fret. The 25" scale length Brazilian Rosewood fretboard has a 10"-14" radius with extra hard medium jumbo frets and a 1.67" bone nut. The hardware is all aged nickel, with Gotoh Kluson-style tuners and the Tone Pros AVR-2 bridge and tailpiece. The original owner of this guitar had the factory pickups professionally replaced with a fabulous set of ThroBak humbuckers which are matched with 2 volume controls, 2 tone controls (with coil split on the neck pickup tone control) and a three-way toggle. The guitar has a total weight of 9 lbs. but the pay back is in the tone!

Many players will prefer the voice of this guitar over a comparable LP. The ThroBaks certainly add to the massive tone of an already great LP-style instrument. Please check out the brief sound sample for a taste. This guitar begs to be matched up with a Marshall stack. And it plays even better than it sounds!

The 2014 model shows only very light evidence of play. Huber gave the hardware and finish a very light distressing, but otherwise this guitar is in excellent condition and the frets show no observable wear.

A new example of this guitar will cost you at least $8K. However, you can have this lightly played 2014 example for quite a bit less. It comes with it's original case, the certificate of authenticity, spec sheet, all the accessories and the upgraded ThroBaks.

A bargain-priced, Brazilian RW, boutique LP with ThroBaks. Make it yours!
