1936 Oahu 66k (converted) Good, GigBag, $650.00
This Oahu model 66K was originally meant for Hawaiian play (made with a square neck) but a previous owner re-shaped the neck for Spanish style play. When I recently acquired the guitar I completed the conversion by resetting the neck, radiusing and refretting the fret board. The 15 1/2” lower bout and 3 3/4” body depth give this guitar some power. The body is entirely solid mahogany, the neck mahogany as well. The bridge is rosewood and the fret board appears to be also. The top and back are ladder braced. The top has three very short hairline cracks below the bridge that are repaired, they are tight, level and stable, and one under the fret board that has been glued. The rest of the instrument is free from cracks. The finish is heavily crazed all over and has dings and scrapes from use but is basically intact and cosmetically very good. Playability is good, action is set at 7/64” and 6/64” with plenty of saddle left to lower the action if desired. Finger picks well but the guitar is best for strumming and flat picking, bright and woody. Comes with a padded gig bag. $650

Any returned items must be shipped in the original packaging and MUST be fully insured when returned.
