1974 Ovation 1617-4 Natural

Up for sale is a clean 1974 Ovation 1617-4 in Natural. Outstanding condition! Probably one of the nicest 70’s Ovations you’ll find out there. Gold tuners. Diamond inlays. Deep Bowl. Original hardshell case. This guitar had been sitting in its case for the past 30+ years from its previous/original owner. This specific Ovation is in exceptional condition compared to any other of these models in the market. The neck is straight, no flaws in intonation, comfortable neck-to-string distance (6/64s Low E, 4/64 High E), and no signs of bracing detachment or bridge lifting (very common in these models). The guitar plays beautiful and it has its original built-in electronics which sound fantastic.
One lacquer surface checking crack below the bridge but not a wood crack. Very common for this age as well as some lacquer checks on the rosette surrounding the sound hole. The Ovation logo on the headstock has worn a bit. The battery clip (holder) appears to have been replaced from the original.
Extremely comfortable and fast-playing neck. Nut width is 1 5/8. Brand new frets installed in July, 2021. Original frets are in the case.
Comes with original owner’s manual, original 1973 and 1974 Ovation Price Guide and original sales brochure. These documents are in mint condition and show no marks, tears, stains or wear.
Comes with original Ovation tan hardshell case in very good condition. Key is included and all latches work perfectly.

In the event a return is requested on an item prior to shipment or delivery a 10% restocking fee will be deducted at our sole discretion. All returns must be approved by phone or email and must be returned in the exact condition they left our store. Any item returned not in the same condition it left our store is subject to a 20% restocking fee at our sole discretion.
