Summary: The PRS Custom 24 Floyd is a beautifully playable solidbody electric guitar with excellent sounding PRS Metal Humbuckers that can cover a lot of genres with the versatile 5-way switch and articulate clarity. The carved flame maple top is breathtaking and thanks to the lightweight mahogany body it won’t break your back. The Floyd Rose tremolo is set up for ultimate pitch control and tuning stability and PRS's Metal humbuckers and 5-way switching let you deploy a stunning arsenal of rock tones. This particular PRS is in great used condition and has recently been setup and restrung by our in house luthier, it is playing as excellent as it should and ships in its original hard-shell case with 2 whammy bars and PRS literature.
Body: A lightweight mahogany body with a carved “10 top” flame maple top, maple binding, belly and upper fret access contours. PRS calls this finish “Yellow Tiger”.
Neck: Fast-playing pattern thin maple neck with ebony fingerboard, PRS signature bird inlays, 24 medium jumbo frets, locking nut, 25” scale length and 1.6875” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: It has 2 PRS Metal Humbuckers, 5 way switch, volume, tone, locking nut, Floyd Rose tremolo unit and smooth PRS phase III locking tuning keys. PRS-designed Metal guitar humbucking pickups were made for heavier music styles. Factory-wound at PRS, Metal pickups incorporate ceramic magnets, giving you full, crystalline cleans. Crank 'em, however, and their increased output serves up deliciously fat, snarling, aggressive sound with crisp note articulation. This is perfect for attaining independent string clarity through high-gain amps. The new Metal pickups give the PRS Custom 24 Floyd the punch and power you need to deliver high-gain sonic mayhem.
Cosmetics: This PRS has been well cared for and looks amazing. There are some light scratches around the body from normal use and picking but the high gloss finish and figured maple masks any minor wear. The back of the neck has been lightly sanded down with steel wool or something to take down the gloss. It feels nice and smooth but you can see where it was done.
Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no grooves or divots.
Modifications: The back of the neck has been rubbed with steel wool or something similar to give it a softer, smoother feeling. The truss rod cover has been removed and is no longer with the guitar.
