Description

Summary: The Mantis was only produced by Peavey from 84-86 and features a unique body design and wiring that splits the 12 pole humbucker into a single coil from 7-10 on the tone knob. It has a few nicks and dings but is in excellent shape for its age and has just been restrung and setup by our guitar tech. This rare rocker was made in USA and is an absolute shredder!

Body: Unique solid body with vintage white finish and 3 ply b/w/b pickguard.

Neck: Maple neck, maple fretboard, 23 frets, black dots, black nut, 4 bolt neck with neck tilt adjustment, 24 ¾” scale length and 1.65” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: 12-pole, fully adjustable humbucker with a custom Peavey circuit that lets you go from a single-coil tone to a humbucker sound simply by adjusting the Tone knob. Turn the knob to 10, and you get a very ballsy single-coil. Roll it back to around 7, and now you have a humbucker. Peavey “Trulok” tuning keys, volume, tone and strat style synchronized tremolo.

Cosmetics: This Mantis is in great used condition and shows only minor nicks and dings in the finish and some yellowing in the finish from the color aging naturally. There is also some light buckle rash but this guitar has no severe blemished and no breaks, cracks or visible repairs.

Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no grooves or divots.

Modifications: One of the original knobs is missing and the whammy bar is missing.

Weight: 6 lbs, 11 oz.

Case: This Peavey does not have a case but we will ship it professionally packed and fully insured!
