I call these types of basses "way back" axes because they always take me back to the time when the only bass I could afford was maybe one of these or an old T-40. Man, those things weighed as much as I did, but in those years, we were all skinny and so full of piss, vinegar, and Rock-n-Roll, it didn't matter how much a guitar or bass weighed. All that mattered was being in a band, not having to pay a bar tab and of course, hoping to get lucky with chicks after the gig was over. I wouldn't trade those days for anything in the world. Would you?

This T-20 has seen some hard days and nights slung over the shoulder of a bassist, playing many, many sets. It has the nicks, dings, bumps, and battle scars to prove it, but the reason for that might be because it plays and sounds so good. It's a super solid, workingman's machine and the true glory of the instrument is that it weighs in at only 9 lbs, 11 oz! In the world of '80s Peavey basses, that makes it a polka-dotted unicorn, because as anyone who played these four-bangers back in the day knows many of them weighed as much as an oil tanker anchor. This one's a real back-saver and that certainly helps if you're around my age.

In order to restore this beast back to its maximum potential, we had our tech do a fret level and polish along with the standard setup. Now, you'll enjoy super low and tight action- no left-hand workouts with this one! Now it's ready to plow its way through any wall of Marshall stacks.

As to the original foam inside the case, it was as ratty as you would imagine, so the previous owner replaced it with a luxurious red velvet that befits the bass perfectly. I mean, you could not get any more gaudy, but the bass is nice and cozy in all that red finery. It makes the package much nicer and still helps to protect the bass.

Please take a look at the photos, let us know if you have any questions and as always, thanks for stopping by!
