1969 Rickenbacker 381 "Fireglo"

Just in, this 6 string 381 is one of the rarest of Rickenbacker models and one of the best examples we've seen! With only about 26 of these instruments made over a few years, original 381 guitars don't come up for sale often. These works of art feature a beautifully carved maple top and back, giving them a sonic depth not found on any other Rick model, which combined with the earliest "hi-gain" pickups truly make these unique sounding guitars. The beautifully figured birdseye maple body is double bound with checkerboard binding, finished in "Fireglo", and the neck features the iconic Rick "Shark Fin" inlays. This amazing example comes from the collection of Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes. It has been professionally re-fretted but is otherwise in fully original condition and includes the original hardshell case. This short lived model has since been reissued by Rickenbacker but originals are incredibly difficult to find.
