Description

Offered here is something quite special from Ronin Guitars. Check out this fabulous Ronin Palus Mourn with their proprietary Foilbucker pickupss. While obviously Ronin's interpretation of a Les Paul-style guitar, this fabulous singlecut is a whole different animal!

Like an LP, this is a short scale (24.5") instrument. The body and neck made of fine Honduran Mahogany with a high grade flamed Maple top. The finish is nitrocellulose lacquer with tasteful aging. The unique body and neck heel contours are hand-formed works of art which, along with a very light weight of just 8.0 pounds, make this an incredibly comfortable instrument to play. The neck too is hand-carved, with a medium/large C-shape with depth measurements of .88" at the first fret and .98" at the twelfth fret. The fingerboard is made of very dark 5A grade Rosewood with a 12" radius, MOP inlays, medium/jumbo frets and a 1.675" bone nut. The bridge and locking tailpiece are high-quality aged aluminum pieces by Pignose. The tuners are nickel Waverlys as you would find on a high-end acoustic guitar. It has a traditional LP control layout and Ronin uses CTS pots and Switchcraft switches. This guitar has been given upgraded NOS caps.

This guitar's pickups are a big part of what makes this a very special instrument. This guitar is bestowed with a matched set of Ronin's own Foilbucker pickups. These pickups are built in-house and are designed to reproduce the tone of vintage DeArmond units. These pickups give the guitar a tone like nothing I've played in quite a while. You can tell you are playing a humbucker when you crank them up; they have a great overdriven sound and don't get muddy. At clean volumes these pickups give it an airy clarity and chime that is marvelous. I'm generally a neck pickup player, but the fat richness of these Foilbuckers allows me to use and enjoy both pickups and all three switch positions. You will love the sounds this guitar can produce! Please check out the brief sound sample provided.

It plays superbly and is nicely balanced. It's light weight and smooth contours make it a joy to play.

This instrument was aged at the factory and exudes the feel and vibe of a vintage instrument. It is in excellent condition and the frets show no observable wear. It comes in it's original Reunion Blues case, although the original hand-written certificate is missing.

This model is no longer being made by Ronin, making the few that exist even more special. If you are a Les Paul lover looking for something a bit different (and some would argue better) than the original, this fabulous Ronin Palus Mourn is sure to please!
