SALE PENDING: As I search the planet for great old vintage guitars, I’ve come to realize that one of the greatest builders of contemporary guitars is right here in my own back yard. Roy McAlister most famously builds guitars for David Crosby and Jackson Browne and has converted numerous Gibson Roy Smeck Stage Deluxe models for Browne as well. He is a player’s builder and many fine guitarists play Roy’s instruments. Roy’s base price is $7,200 and that’s even before talking Brazilian which Roy speaks very well. The guitar I have on consignment was inspired by a Jackson Browne commission. It’s become one of Roy’s most popular models – a reproduction of the ultra-rare Gibson Roy Smeck Radio Grande with Brazilian back and sides – also known as the Roy “Smeck-Alister”. This one is nearly identical to the one Browne commissioned excepting perhaps the fingerboard inlays.

 - Brazilian Rosewood Back & Sides

 - Adirondack Spruce Top

 - Ebony Bindings w/Holly Purfliings

 - Thin Abalone Outer Ring w/2 thin BRW Inner Rings Rosette

 - BRW Headstock Veneer

 - Gold Gotoh 510 Tuners w/Ebony Buttons

Built to the exact specs of Jackson Brown's. A fine instrument in every way. The tone woods are master grade, the attention to detail is meticulous. The action is set up quite low (taller saddle in the case) and the tone is resonant and lush with rich overtones and cavernous sustain. Comes with the original Ameritage case that is built like a battleship. Consignment.
